University Academy Holbeach is expecting 70 per cent of its GCSE students to return for sixth form after a results day marked by celebrations with families, staff and pupils.
The school said there was a “great atmosphere” on the morning of Thursday, August 20, as students collected their results and reflected on their personal and academic achievements. The results were described as the outcome of pupils’ hard work, dedication and ambition, supported by staff and families during their time at UAH.
Students celebrate their achievements
University Academy Holbeach said the GCSE results reflected the commitment shown by pupils over the past two years. The school’s outgoing principal, Miss Sheila Paige, said she was delighted with the achievements secured by students and praised their resilience and determination.
“We are absolutely delighted with the achievements our pupils have secured today.”
Miss Paige said students had been rewarded with the grades they deserved after their efforts, while also thanking staff for their dedication and families for their continued support.
“Their resilience and determination over these past two years have truly paid off, and it is fantastic to see them rewarded with the grades they deserve.”
Most students to continue at UAH
The school said many of the successful pupils are expected to continue their education at UAH, with 70 per cent returning to its sixth form. Miss Paige said the sixth form was continuing to “go from strength to strength” and that the school looked forward to welcoming the students back.
Other pupils are preparing to take different routes after their GCSEs. The principal wished those embarking on new paths every success for the future.
“For those embarking on new paths, we wish them every success for the future.”
The results day follows a period in which students, teachers and families worked towards the examinations. The school credited all three groups in its response, highlighting the role of staff dedication and family support alongside the pupils’ own work.
For families in and around South Holland, the announcement provides an update on the next step for many UAH students: most are expected to remain at University Academy Holbeach for sixth-form study, while others move on to new opportunities.
