Students from Spalding Academy are celebrating after Bourne Academy recorded a 99 per cent pass rate across all exams and its strongest set of sixth-form results to date.
Bourne Academy, which is attended by sixth-form students from Spalding Academy and Donington’s Cowley Academy, reported that 49 per cent of A-level and BTEC qualifications were equivalent to grades A* to A. The South Lincolnshire Academies Trust school also had a record number of students sit exams in 2026.
Strong performances across A-level and BTEC subjects
Among the A-level results, 80 per cent of French students achieved grades between A* and B, while 56 per cent of English Language students achieved A* to B.
Vocational students also recorded notable results. Some 72 per cent of BTEC grades were at Distinction* to Distinction level, equivalent to A* or A at A-level. Overall, 98 per cent of BTEC grades were between Distinction* and Merit, described as equivalent to grades A* to C at A-level.
Health & Social Care students saw 89 per cent achieve Distinction* to Distinction. The corresponding figures were 86 per cent for travel and tourism and 83 per cent for performing arts.
Mrs Jemma Curson, chief executive officer at South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, said the school was proud of the results and of the work by students and staff.
“We are immensely proud to have been able to celebrate another outstanding set of A-level and BTEC grades. To consistently achieve top results as our Sixth Form grows significantly is just incredible. It has been wonderful to see the successes of our students today as their hard work and dedication in Sixth Form has been rewarded. University, apprenticeship and career destinations
Miss Katie Belcher, headteacher at Bourne Academy, said 99 per cent of students had secured their chosen university or apprenticeship offers.
The destinations listed include law at the University of Bristol, mental health nursing at King’s College London, architecture at Loughborough University, music at LIPA, electrical and electronic engineering at the University of Nottingham, equine performance and rehabilitation at Hartbury University, and medicine at Newcastle University.
The results also opened routes into degree apprenticeships with local and national organisations. Students secured places with Perkins, Greencore, Peterborough United Football Club, Hays Travel and the Royal Air Force.
“The destinations our students have secured is incredible with 99 per cent having achieved their chosen university or apprenticeship offers.
Miss Belcher said students had achieved a wide range of destinations and wished them success in their future careers.
“These including studying law at University of Bristol, mental health nursing at King’s College London, architecture at Loughborough University, music at LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts), electrical & electronic engineering at University of Nottingham, equine performance & rehabilitation at Hartbury University and medicine at NewcastleUniversity.

The published results highlighted the achievements of students from across the Bourne Academy sixth form, including those connected with Spalding Academy and Donington’s Cowley Academy.
