Park Road in Holbeach was closed after a collision in the early hours of Monday, August 31, with emergency services expected to remain at the scene for some time.
The incident happened at 5.13am, according to a report by The Spalding and South Holland Voice. A Lincolnshire Police statement incorrectly identified the closed road as Park Road in Spalding, while the report stated that the incident took place in Holbeach.
Drivers advised to find alternative routes
Part of Park Road was closed while emergency services dealt with the collision. Police advised motorists to seek alternative routes where feasible.
The closure was expected to last for some time, meaning people travelling through Holbeach were warned to allow for disruption and consider changing their route before setting out.
Carter’s Park access affected
The collision also led Holbeach Parish Council to close nearby gates to Carter’s Park. The police requested that the gate beside the toilets at Carter’s Park and the gate to Park Road cemetery remain closed.
Both locations could still be reached through other gates, so the closures did not prevent access to the park or cemetery altogether.
“Part of the road has been closed and is expected to be closed for some time while emergency services deal with this incident.
“Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes where feasible.”
