The Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding has returned to performing after a short break, with its latest charity concert raising more than £500 for three local causes.
The orchestra raised the money while partnering with Pavanotti, the performing name of Jeff Woods, at his Pav & Friends concert. The event took place “a couple of Saturdays ago”, according to a letter published on September 23, 2026. No exact date for the concert was given.
The concert brought the orchestra together with Jeff Woods, Cormac O’Hara and Oksana Ponaida. The performers shared the stage as audiences supported the fundraising effort, with the orchestra saying people had been particularly generous.
Three organisations to benefit
The money will go to Boxes of Hope, Citizens Advice and Thistles Market Garden. The source does not specify how the total will be divided between the three organisations.
Thistles Market Garden provides work experience for adults with particular needs. Elliot O’Hara represented the organisation at the concert, giving it a presence among the performers and beneficiaries connected with the event.
Fundraising for local charities is described as a central part of the Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding’s work. The group also says its performances are intended to be enjoyable, adding a social and entertainment role to its community fundraising.
Thursday rehearsals in Spalding
The orchestra is now entertaining audiences throughout the area again after its short break. It is also inviting new members to join its rehearsals in Spalding.
Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings from 7pm at Broad Street Methodist Church. The invitation is open to people at every level, including those who are absolute beginners as well as experienced ukulele players.
