Consti G have moved to the top of Division One in the Spalding and District Snooker League after a 4-2 victory over Donington C. The result leaves Donington C in ninth place, while Consti’s three winners were Darren Woodberry, Martin Deacon and Ady Sibley.
Pyramid F are second after beating fellow club side Pyramid A 4-2, with Pyramid A in third. Carl Gibson, Pete Hodgson-Kerry and Mark Gray won the first three frames for Pyramid F. Gray also produced the week’s highest individual highlight, making a 51 clearance in his match against Jim Benner.
Division One leaders separated by tight results
Consti H strengthened their position with a 4-2 win over Gosberton A. Gosberton have yet to get off the mark after two matches, while Services D are also still without a win. Services D lost 5-1 to Pyramid C, whose successful players were Spencer Dawkins, Richard Skellett, George Neary-Phillips and Jason Green.
Elsewhere in Division One, Holbeach B beat Services A 5-1. Holbeach E defeated Boundary A 4-2, and Holbeach D won 4-2 away from the table leaders’ immediate contest against Pyramid D.
The complete Division One results were Donington C 2, Consti G 4; Pyramid F 4, Pyramid A 2; Services A 1, Holbeach B 5; Boundary A 2, Holbeach E 4; Consti H 4, Gosberton A 2; Pyramid C 5, Services D 1; and Pyramid D 2, Holbeach D 4.
Pyramid E take Division Two lead
Pyramid E are the new Division Two leaders after a 5-1 win against clubmates Pyramid B. Steve Thompson, Adrian Sharpe, John Clapton and Dean Cole won frames for Pyramid E, while Richard Clark claimed Pyramid B’s only point.
Services B sit second after a 4-2 away victory over Gosberton B. Jason Rose, Alan Hansard and Paul Doades were the Services winners.
Holbeach A remain at the bottom and are still searching for their first win after losing 4-2 to Consti F. Wayne Dent gave Holbeach an early advantage, but Martyn Stanley and Mark Dennis won the next two frames for Consti. Mark Woodberry then levelled the match by beating Robert Adams.
The tie went to a deciding frame between Sean Swinburn and Justyn Stanley. Stanley won 77-57 to complete Consti F’s victory.
Services C also won 4-2, coming from behind against Whittlesey A. Whittlesey started strongly through Steve Jennings and Jason Clarke, but Kevin Fitter, Adi Liquorish and Nigel Cherry took the next three frames for Services.
Holbeach F beat Boundary B 4-2 after taking the opening three frames through David Lefley, Susan Lefley and Dan Mayfield. Boundary responded with two consolation points from Mick Goddard and Mick Mitchell. Gosberton D beat Holbeach C 4-2, while Holbeach G had a free week.
Consti J stay top after Gosberton win
Consti J remain in first place in Division Three despite a 4-2 defeat by Gosberton C. Consti C moved into second after beating Consti D 4-2, with John Walker, Dave Banister and Terry George winning for the C team.
Whittlesey B beat Donington A 4-2. Pawel Skutela, John Skutela and Michael Foster took the winning frames for Whittlesey, while Shaun Pickering and Kevin Hawes scored for Donington A.
Bourne SC beat Consti B 4-2, and Consti A defeated clubmates Consti 1 by the same score. Wayne Wilding, Louis Steadman and Nigel Steadman were the Consti A winners.
The other Division Three results were Consti D 2, Consti C 4; Whittlesey B 4, Donington A 2; Consti B 2, Bourne SC 4; Consti I 2, Consti A 4; and Gosberton C 4, Consti J 2. Donington D versus Whittlesey C was postponed, while Donington B had a free week.
Consti G win cup tie
Consti G completed a successful week by beating Consti C 3-2 in the knock-out cup. The result adds a cup win to their league victory over Donington C and their move to the top of Division One.
