A 28-year-old Spalding man has been warned that he could go to prison after police found 206g of cannabis at his flat in The Meadows.

Thomas Parr appeared at Lincoln Crown Court after admitting possession of the Class B drug. Recorder Adrian Reynolds told him that he was “in peril of going to prison”, because the offence breached a suspended prison sentence imposed by the same court in June 2025.

Police attended Parr’s property on the afternoon of April 26, where officers found him and quantities of cannabis in the kitchen, shoeboxes and bags. Parr told police during an interview that the cannabis was for his own personal use.

The court heard that Parr admitted using cannabis to relieve back pain and help him deal with anxiety. He pleaded guilty when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court earlier this year.

Further report requested before sentence

Parr’s sentencing was adjourned until August 14 so that a Probation report could be prepared. However, his defence barrister, Neil Sands, asked the court for a further adjournment after Parr became agitated during his interview with the Probation Service.

Mr Sands said concerns had been raised about Parr’s mental health and requested another report from the Liaison and Diversion team. Recorder Reynolds agreed to the request, but warned Parr that his behaviour towards the Probation Service was unacceptable.

“These people are here to try and help you,” Recorder Reynolds explained to Parr. “You stand in peril of going to prison because you have breached your suspended sentence. “So try and help yourself.”

Sentencing date set for September

Parr was granted unconditional bail until September 4, when he is due to be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court. The court’s decision on sentence will follow the additional assessment requested by the defence.
