More than 60 people came together for a fundraising afternoon tea in Spalding, raising £1,277 in memory of former Friendship Circle of South Holland member Rosemary Gaunt.
Rosemary died last year, and the group organised the event as a tribute to her. Members contributed cakes and other treats, while volunteers helped run the afternoon.
Community support behind the event
Judy Dolton organised the tea once again and also arranged a raffle. Jan Whitbourn, chair of South Holland Council, was invited to attend as guest of honour.
Myton Food Group Spalding supported the fundraiser by donating tea, coffee and a large afternoon-themed hamper as a raffle prize. The event also benefited from donations of time and refreshments from local members.
The afternoon brought attendees together over tea and cake while raising money through the event and raffle. The final total was described by organisers as £1,277.
Thanks to volunteers and donors
Judy Dolton thanked everyone who donated or volunteered to make the fundraiser possible.
“I’d like to thank everyone that donated and gave their time to make this such a successful day. “Thanks also to Myton Food Group Spalding for their support again this year.”
Tina Ellis, Myton Food Group Spalding’s Community Champion, said the company was pleased to support the gathering.
“Myton is committed to supporting the local community and were happy to have been part of this event.”
The fundraiser was reported by The Spalding and South Holland Voice on August 19, 2026.
