Spalding Academy will close for the summer holidays, with pupils returning in stages in September and the school’s main reception operating on answerphone during the break.
The arrangements, published on 17 July 2026, set out how parents and carers can contact the school while staff are away, as well as the dates when each year group is expected back for the new academic year.
School contact arrangements over the summer
The phones at the main reception will be diverted to answerphone during the holidays. Messages left there will not be picked up until Thursday 3 September 2026, when the school’s return arrangements begin.
Parents and carers can email [email protected]. Staff will monitor emails during the holiday period, although the school said it could not guarantee a response because staff will be on leave.
Safeguarding concerns should be sent to [email protected]. The school said this address will be monitored throughout the holidays. Further information about safeguarding and other contacts is available through the school’s safeguarding and wellbeing pages.
September return dates for pupils
Spalding Academy has scheduled a staggered return at the start of the 2026/27 academic year:
- Thursday 3 September 2026: Years 7, 10 and 11 return.
- Friday 4 September 2026: Years 8 and 9 return, with all students expected to be in school.
If a pupil is absent at the start of term, parents or carers must report the absence before 8.15am. The school directs families to its attendance information for details of how to do this.
Results, wellbeing and term-date information
Information about 2026 exam results days is available through the school’s exam-results information page. Families can also check the published term dates for both the 2026/27 and 2027/28 academic years.
The school has reminded parents and carers that pupils are not allowed to take holidays during term time because this can affect their learning. It said the term dates are published in advance to help families plan, including provisional dates for the 2027/28 academic year.
Spalding Academy also highlighted its Student Wellbeing Charter, describing it as an addition to support for students’ wellbeing and mental health. Students can access the school’s Student Wellbeing website for further information.
