South Holland Singers are preparing an afternoon of music, refreshments and audience participation at Spalding Baptist Church.
The choir’s Tea and Tunes performance is described as fun and informal. Rehearsals are already under way for a programme that will include familiar songs such as Mamma Mia, Hey Jude, Danny Boy and Sailing.
The concert is due to take place from 3pm to 5.30pm, with the music building towards a Last Night of the Proms-style selection. That finale will include Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory.
Refreshments and singalong finale
Organisers say the afternoon will be accompanied by refreshments and bunting, with “probably some flag-waving” as part of the atmosphere. Members of the audience will be encouraged to join in during the final part of the concert.
