Saturday’s Snowden Field parkrun in Crowland produced a day of notable milestones, with 84 people completing the weekly 5K run, jog and walk. The field included five people making their parkrun debuts at Snowden Field, while 18 participants were taking part in the Crowland course for the first time.

The biggest milestone belonged to Justin Showell, who completed his 624th parkrun. Matthias Thomas and Roger Williams also reached significant landmarks, each recording their 200th parkrun.

First finishers and personal bests

Robert Jeffrey was first across the line in 18 minutes 17 seconds. Steph Parker, running for Werrington Joggers, was the first female finisher, completing the course in 21:27.

The event also produced 12 personal-best times. Organisers were supported by 19 volunteers, who helped the runners, joggers and walkers make their way around the course.

Halmer Harriers represented

Debs Norman was the leading finisher among the Spalding-based Halmer Harriers runners. She finished 39th in 30:28, exactly two minutes ahead of club colleague Rebecca Pearse.

Halmer Harriers runners also recorded times at events further afield. Kathryn Chapman completed Tolka Valley parkrun in Dublin in 32:28, while Jayne Pell finished there in 34:06.

The week’s fastest time among the runners mentioned was recorded by Scott Burrell, who finished Ashton Court parkrun in Bristol in 20:17.

Parkrun events are held over a 5K distance and welcome people who run, jog or walk. The Snowden Field results show how one weekly event can combine first-time participation with long-running personal milestones and club representation from the Spalding area.
