The Pinchbeck & District Summer Darts League has reached the semi-final stage of both Dewhursts Trophies Cup competitions, although the two Knockout Cup ties were postponed after three of the four teams involved could not field a side.

The week’s biggest result came in the third round, where Consti Club C eliminated Division A leaders Lincoln Arms A. The result ended Lincoln Arms A’s hopes of completing a league and cup double.

Lincoln Arms A trailed 4-1 before recovering some ground through Steve Stancer and Sam Roberts. Consti captain Paul Faulkner then secured the victory by beating Steve Gaughan 2-1 in the penultimate game.

The match also featured high-quality finishing from both sides. Roberts hit an 18-dart leg, while John Charlton produced a 16-dart leg for Lincoln Arms A.

Ward Trophy finalists confirmed

Both finalists in the Ward Trophy, which is contested by Division B and C teams, have now been decided.

Drayman’s Arms B booked its place after a 5-4 win away at Green Dragon Z. The team came back from a 4-2 deficit, with singles victories from Vlad Fomkinas, Phil Newton and Matt Peppercorn completing the turnaround.

Pinchbeck FC A won the other semi-final 6-3 at Consti Club B. After losing the opening pairs, the football club won five consecutive games to establish an unassailable lead. Archie Austin won the crucial match 2-1 against Stu Ewins, while Josh Burton hit a 180 during his singles victory.
