Spalding town centre will turn into a free live-music and motorbike event on Sunday, August 9, with eight bands performing on a specially erected stage in the Market Place.

Live Music Day is being organised by Spalding Business Improvement District (BID) in conjunction with Live Promotions. Music is scheduled to run through the afternoon, with local businesses also open to serve food and drink.

Music line-up and timings

The programme includes Zebra, Keep This Up, Fred Lane, Replay, Sound Injektors, Highlights, Velocity and The Houndogs.

The Houndogs are the headline act and are due to finish the event with a rock ’n’ roll show running until 6pm. The event information says the day begins at 12pm, although the published performance schedule starts with Keep This Up at 12.40pm and lists Zebra at 1pm.

Motorbike displays and visitor information

Bikers are being encouraged to bring their vehicles, with motorbike parking and viewing areas planned for Broad Street, New Road, Red Lion Street, Herring Lane, Sheep Market and Hall Place. Displays are also set to take place on a number of nearby streets.

Entry is completely free. Additional seats will not be provided, but visitors can bring their own chairs. People can attend for a single performance or stay throughout the day.

A spokesman for Spalding BID said: “We can’t wait to bring another fantastic day of live entertainment to Spalding. “Whether you’re staying for one band or making a day of it, we hope you’ll join us in supporting our local businesses and helping to make it a memorable event for everyone.”

With food and drink available from local businesses and dedicated areas for motorbike parking and viewing, the event is expected to bring music fans and bikers into the town centre on Sunday.
